Previous training is not required to go sport fishing in Los Cabos. If you are a beginner then basic instruction in the marina where you book your trip will be enough to start.
We recommend you to start with light tackle fishing since the line casting techniques are simpler to those in, for example, fly fishing. Sport fishing in Cabo San Lucas requires a special license issued by the Mexican Ministry of Natural Resources, however, the marina where you hire your trip will do the paperwork for you and it should be included in the price of the tour.
There are no age restrictions for fishing in Los Cabos, it's all down to the strength of the angler. Sport fishing is not recommended for people with high blood pressure, other heart diseases, epilepsy or pregnant women. Sport fishing is a fun activity to do with your friends or the whole family; it's always a great adventure.
